Coach Parker was born and raised in Johnston County.  He is a graduate from Smithfield Selma High School and North Carolina Wesleyan College. At Wesleyan, Parker was part of the inaugural football team and went on to play in the NCAA Division III playoffs as a senior. He graduated from Wesleyan with a degree in History and Secondary Education. SSS hired Parker as the Head Coach for Men’s and Women’s tennis coach in 2017. Coach Parker took over as Athletic Director in 2024, following a 3 year stint as Assistant Athletic Director.
